Isabel Couper Stiles Marshall letter, ca. 1931-1952.

This collection consists of a letter from Isabel Couper Stiles Marshall to Judge Gordon Saussy (ca. 1874-1952) of the Court of Ordinary, Chatham County, Georgia. In the letter Marshall requests a permit to carry a pistol in her car for protection. The letter is undated, but Gordon Saussy resigned as Mayor of Savannah in 1931 to run for the position of Judge of the Court of Ordinary, a position he won. Judge Saussy died in 1952. Therefore, the letter must date between 1931 and 1952.
